I guess how many of you know about this very popular festival shared by our Indian and Nepalese Hindu brother and sisters. Gadhimai festival is a sacrificial ritual that is held every 5 years at the Gadhimai Temple of Bariyarpur, in Bara District, south of the capital Kathmandu, near the Indo-Nepal border. The event involves a large scale slaughter of animals including buffaloes, pigs, goats, chicken, rats( can you believe it) , and pigeons( really? ) – with the goal of pleasing Gadhimai, the goddess of power. So we can easily conclude from above information that Gadhimai is a goddess who ask her devotees to sacrifice others life to fulfill their fate. Thats so insanely misunderstood thing.
