A journey through The Himalayas.

This weekend was far more remarkable than we had actually planned. Everyone was very excited as we were going for camping in the lap of The Great Himalayas. The word "The Great" is correctly prefixed to it as it totally justifies with its attitude. Its ranges are never ending and stand tall, challenging you to dare reach to its height. As we got nearer and nearer, I could feel the tranquillity of the abode of snow as it literally means. At the camping spot, the holy Ganges was flowing with great persistence, teaching you to never give up, however, tough the time is. We went to the river to seek its blessings and make us pure by getting rid of our sins.

After having lunch, we went for a walk through the forest. The baby monkeys were clinging to their mothers as tight as they could and feeling safe in their presence. Nature has so much love filled in it. This is why great thinkers, poets, and successful people have probably come here to take inspiration whenever they have no clear path ahead of them. As we moved ahead, close to the river bank was a mesmerizing peacock. It was new to me because I had never seen animals moving so freely without any fear or restriction. But slowly it grew cold in the evening and we had to move to a hotel at Rishikesh.  At night, we went to explore the religious city of Rishikesh which holds in itself a rich cultural and religious history. Home to a number of Hindu temples, dating back to the Ramayana times, this city is famous for its spiritual smell in the air. Walking on the Laxman jhula over the holy river, the gushing sound of the Ganges told the great chronicles of the events and the recital of its holiness.

The time flew so quickly and the day was on the verge of getting over. The dark night commanded us to get back in the room. We were home after buying some souvenir for ourselves to always remind us of the beautiful memories and experiences the place had given us. Surely the place deserves a visit again as it remains unexplored even now and a lot of adventure sports is still left uncovered. The place is a must visit for everyone as it has in store something or the other for everyone.

The Hindus : Descendants of Sanatan Dharma Part 1

The Sanatana dharma traces its existance back to some 10 thousands years back. There is an old saying that when people in the west were busy in making utensils out of human bones the people in India were writing Vedas. We have not only invented the number system but been using it efficiently for astronomy. The word Hindu which has been for long seen as a religious identity of a group of people is in actually the geographical identity of the people living side the great Himalayas and the Indu sagar(ocean). So if we follow that up then every person living in India be him a christian or Muslim or follower of any other religion is actually a Hindu. But with time the word "Hindu" had became the identity of the followers of "Sanatan Dharma". "Sanatana" is a Sanskrit word that denotes that which is Anadi (beginningless), Anantha (endless) and does not cease to be, that which is eternal and everlasting. Dharma is from dhri, meaning to hold together, ...

" Despite being an ancient literary civilization and having one of the largest literary treasures of hand-written and printed material, India does not have a single Society for rare book collectors. Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon

Cat and Mouse Race: India vs China For past many years there has been a question whether India will be a next China? China and India both started the journey at same time but today the GDP of China is about 5 times that of its Indian counterpart. Over the last two decades the world has witnessed a tremendous growth of China surpassing the two digit growth mark only to slow down for past few years. India currently the fastest growing economy of the world is growing at a steady rate of near to 7.0 per year but still not able to catch up the double digit mark as China did. The biggest period of difference came between 1978 - 2000. Before that India and China went quite parallel. Even as late as 1991, India and China were equal in Per Capita incomes. After 2000, India's growth rate has come close to China's levels. It is the inbetween 25 years where China rocketed beyond the reach of India. Now some would suggest that the difference in the growth th...
